Currently I have a love hate relationship with drawing. It’s been a month since I started my drawing class, and it isn’t getting easier for me. If anything drawing is becoming more challenging. It’s hard for me to stay focused on a subject for a very long period of time without becoming restless. My design class was much more fun. I didn’t feel as confined by rules or boundaries, like I do in drawing class. In design I felt free to use my creativity to bring the art to life. In drawing I have capture exactly what I see, not what I feel. Much harder to do for me. For now, I will try to discipline myself to stay focused on the thing that I’m drawing. Here are my first few drawing projects, which drove me a little crazy. We have explored the concepts of line, and negative vs. positive space so far.
