Beach Town Love

This past weekend I got a chance to visit the city of Ventura. My friend Ellie invited me to go up and visit her sister’s house while she was house sitting. It was one of the best weekends I spent with her family. We rode bikes, also watched an adaptation of several of Shakespeare’s plays, relaxed, and enjoyed a walk down main street to visit the local shops.
Surfsailing was fun to watch as we rode along the bike path. Amazing :))
Shot this picture while riding along the path. I love the design on all the boards and I wish I could surf. Inspires me to take lessons someday.
My son Jordan and his best friend Anthony racing down the beach.
This candle holder is beautiful. The placemat made of rocks that the candle stands on is magnificent.
Downtown Ventura on Main street, the place was lively and full of great shops.
I was sad to find out we just missed Ventura’s Artwalk event the Sunday we arrived. It was happening while we were busy riding along the beach that day. :(( Soooo sad.
I took pictures from outside the window of this art gallery because it was closed on Monday.
This graffiti piece was done outside a shop called Bagel Rock Cafe. The croissant I bought there was delish. By the way Ellie got Anthony a bagel just like the one in the picture with cheese minus the jalapenos. I’m guessing it was good because he ate it up. 🙂
The pictures above were taken at Heart’s Delight Clothiers on Main Street. These cute little fish dressed up in custume brought a smile to my face. The store specializes in renisance clothing, but also carries ornamental whimsical items.
This sculpture stood right by the boardwalk on the beach. I liked it because of the bright red color, it just stands out amongst everything else you expect to find on the beach.
