During my first undergrad year in college I took a writing class. My professor offered a choice of topics to write on for an essay.Art has always made me feel free, therefore it was a no brainer when I decided to write an essay on Basquiat. The assignment required a visit to the Museum to see the traveling Basquiat exhibit in Los Angeles. The Art was incredible! I fell in love with the art and the artist. Somehow I connected with the jagged,rough, colorful, dark, edgy words, and symbols. I’d never experienced anything like it. The exhibition opened my eyes to the Modern Art world. The pictures I’ve posted are from a book one of my dear friends gave me for my birthday this year. Hope you like them.
